CEO & FounderMeet Laura, a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse with over 17 years of nursing experience. A compassionate healthcare professional that has worked in various healthcare settings, gaining a wealth of knowledge and cultivating her skills in patient care, advocacy and the importance of community well-being.
The driving force behind the creation of Pop Pop’s House was inspired by the unconditional love and acceptance received from her grandparents throughout childhood. As her grandfather, Mr. Wesley Newborn, grew older, Laura assumed the role as one of his caregivers.Her commitment to excellence, combined with a heartfelt dedication to her grandfather’s memory, fueled her mission to create an organization that treats it’s participants “like family”!

CEO & FounderMeet Gregory, a dedicated, Master’s prepared Special Education Teacher with over 10 years of experience. Recognizing the need for continued support and opportunities after his students graduate, he co-founded Pop Pop’s House Inc. His mission is to bridge the transition gap for individuals with special needs by providing tailored programs that enable them to lead fulfilling lives that are fully integrated into their communities.
About pop pop’s house
Community Participation Support at Pop Pop’s House encourages adults with Intellectual Disabilities, age 21 and older, to become more involved in their community. Activities are informed by the individuals’ talents interests and preferences.
Goals may include, but not limited to, establishing social interactions, building relationships, develop natural supports, increase independence, boost potential for employment, and person-centered planning focused on inclusion.
